Jody Wisternoff is one half of epic dance duo Way Out West, the other half of which Nick Warren is playing for Renaissance at MOS on Saturday night.
I think Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren embody a trance & progressive house sound that’s never really gone away but has been in and out of fashion. Unlike the Goa sound of people like Oakenfol, which exploded, peaked and faded away’ the progressive scene has bubbled along rather than exploded and in my view was always more of a southern sound while we northeners banged away to hard house. Renaisseance has always been one of the premier nights in the UK but has never been particlarly shouty about it. It’s just knocked out great progressive house nights for years. Though looking at the Deadmau5 and recent AVB offerings I do think that this sound will be the sound of the summer (again) in 2009.
Intensified is Jody’s regular show for Frisky Radio
You can also check out Way Out there which is Jody’s monthly mix slot on Proton Radio
This month’s is a vocal and quite housey mix which is perfect for the commute in the Spring weather and is very much putting me in the mood for a long weekend.
